Family in Western AustraliaWilliam Donegan’s father, John Donegan, served in the 21st Regiment of the British Army 1828-1845. Nine years of his service was in Van Dieman’s Land, hence the possibility of William Donegan’s birth there.
Donegan senior came to Western Australia on Adelaide in 1855 and died c. 1863.  There were many
people named Donegan in the Toodyay area from the late 19th Century.
William Donegan and Jane Stevens had no children.
