Disabled by partial loss of power of right hand and arm after fracture of both bones of forearm about their centre by a grapeshot on 28th June in the Cemetery [Sebastopol]. The ball struck the arm obliquely and appears to have injured the Ulna more than the Radius. Both bones are greatly curved at the seat of fracture. He also states that by the concussion the Humerus of the same arm was fractured in 2 places. Of this however there is no very direct [? ]. States that 2 pieces of bone came away from the forearm.
Unfit for further service [Chatham December 26th 1855].
