The wound is in the soft parts of the upper arm. Was caused by a portion of shell and has produced ? of the forearm with inability to close the fingers.
Forearm much wasted – hand useless from inability to close the fingers. This state of things must seriously affect his capacity of gaining a livelihood [Dublin Nov 14th 1863].
